The Australian Rodent Fanciers' Society of New South Wales announces their first public show for 2002, to be held on 29th of June at 46 Coxs Road, North Ryde.

AusRFS (NSW) extends an invitation to members of the general public to attend their first show since the Society's formation in March this year. If you have a love of Rats or Mice (or both!) or are just curious about Fancy Rodents as valuable pets, this is a fantastic opportunity to meet with other like-minded people. Come and see for yourself why Rodents are considered a fantastic choice of pet for everyone.

With volunteers on hand to talk to and information sheets to take home, this show will prove to be beneficial to those who have an interest in Rats and Mice, as well as those who have never considered them as a pet. It will be informative for individuals interested in learning more about showing in accordance with the standards written by AusRFS (NSW). Members with experience in showing for a number of years will be present and available to answer any questions.

The day will begin at 10.30 am, with the judging of the Pet Classes for both Rats and Mice. The show is open to anyone with either of these pets. The Pet Class is a perfect place to learn what it is like to show Fancy Rodents. Following the judging of the Pet Class, the judging of the Show Standard classes will commence.

A BBQ will be held between 1.00-2.00 pm. This is a chance for those with Fancy Rats and Mice as pets to learn about the Society, its' benefits and objectives. The sale of Food and Drinks will help raise money for the club.

The cost of entering an animal is $1 per entry, per class for members, and $2 per entry, per class for non-members. Each person (or membership) is allowed to enter a maximum of two rats and/or two mice in the pet section. There is no limit to the number of animals shown in the Show Standard classes. All animals must be presented to the judges in an appropriate show tank. These will be available for hire for the day at a cost of $1 each. Registration of all entries will close Sunday 23rd of June. It is requested that all entrants be at the show for check in by 10.00 am, ready for a 10.30 am start. Please note that the show is being held at a private residence and not public hall. Coxs Rd North Ryde can be found in the UBD Sydney Directory on page 194; grid reference A9. Those taking public transport can take Bus route 288, departing from the City, alighting at Blenheim Rd (shops), North Ryde and walking a short distance to the venue.
